Qype: Taro Japanese Restaurant in London

London - Restaurants - Japanese & Sushi

In my ever-eager quest for London's best Sushi I gave Taro a whirl. I'd heard about the owner looking exactly like the little stick drawing on the card, but with two branches it's hard to know which one he's at.

The sushi was great - the rice was perfect texture and the fish was very fresh. I think the bento box is best value for money - I had the extravagent Salmon A that came with 5 pieces of sashimi, 2 pcs nigiri, 2 pcs maki, edemame beans and a rice compartment covered with thin slices of cooked salmon. It also came with a bowl of miso soup and was £11 - a full meal on it's own.

We also sampled their gyoza, other maki and nigiri offerings and think that the asking price is fair for what you get. The place is clean and welcoming and the food arrives extremely quickly from a little magic metal lift of awesomeness in the corner.
